Inclusion
At Stanley Grove, we believe that every child is unique and valuable. We are proud to be an inclusive school where care, respect, and kindness are at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to ensure that every child feels safe, welcomed, and supported to be themselves and to reach their full potential.
We celebrate difference and work together to create a school community where everyone belongs.
Inclusion at Stanley Grove means:
Every child is treated with care, dignity, and respect
Differences are recognised, valued, and celebrated
Children are supported to learn in ways that suit their individual needs
Everyone is encouraged to take part fully in school life
We believe that inclusion helps children develop confidence, empathy, and a strong sense of belonging.
Every child brings their own strengths, experiences, and perspectives to our school. We celebrate uniqueness by:
Valuing different cultures, languages, beliefs, and family backgrounds
Supporting children to express who they are and feel proud of their identity
Teaching children that differences make our community stronger
Encouraging kindness, understanding, and respect for others
Our curriculum, assemblies, and daily interactions help children learn about the world around them and the people within it.
We are committed to supporting all children to achieve their best.
This includes:
Identifying and supporting children with additional learning needs or disabilities
Providing appropriate adjustments and targeted support where needed
Working closely with our SENDCO, teachers, and support staff
Collaborating with external professionals when appropriate
Regularly reviewing progress and celebrating achievements
We work in partnership with families to ensure each child receives the support they need to thrive.
We believe in empowering children to:
Develop confidence and independence
Have a voice and feel listened to
Build resilience and self-belief
Support and care for one another
Children are encouraged to share their ideas, make choices, and take responsibility within a supportive and nurturing environment. Every pupil in year 6 has a Junior Leadership Role and is instrumental in working the the Head Teacher and other school leaders to make a difference and have a voice. They celebrate the success of others in assemblies and hold professional minuted meetings to drive continuous improvements in our academy.
At Stanley Grove, we actively promote equality and challenge discrimination in all its forms. We have a clear approach to:
Promoting respectful behaviour and positive relationships
Preventing and addressing bullying
Supporting emotional wellbeing and mental health
Children are taught that everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected.
We are committed to making our school as accessible as possible for children, families, and visitors. This includes:
Making reasonable adjustments to support individual needs
Providing accessible learning environments
Ensuring our website is clear, readable, and easy to navigate
Having a messaging service with translation capability.
If you require any additional support or information in a different format, we are happy to help.
We value strong, open relationships with parents and carers. Inclusion works best when we work together, and we encourage families to:
Share information and concerns with us early
Take part in meetings and reviews
Celebrate successes with us
Your knowledge of your child is important, and we are always ready to listen.
