First Aid

Every year, children from Year 2 to Year 6 are trained in First Aid. This ranges from how to phone for an ambulance; dealing with someone who is choking to helping someone who is unconscious by putting them in the recovery position.   The children are taught by staff who are Heartstart trained or by the Junior Medics service.   Years 5 and 6 work on CPR. By the time children leave Stanley Grove they have had 5 years of age appropriate First Aid training.

We are very proud of our school council who organised fundraising for a defibrillator in our school. It has been used several times already and we are pleased to be supporting our community in this way. We include using a defibrillator in our first aid sessions for our older pupils.
