Looking after our environment and world

At Stanley Grove Academy  we are passionate about protecting our planet and nurturing environmental responsibility in every pupil. Our Stanley Planet Savers play a leading role in promoting sustainability throughout the school. They work together to raise awareness about key environmental issues, from reducing waste to protecting wildlife and caring for our trees and outdoor spaces.

Our Planet Savers lead assemblies and campaigns that inspire the whole school community to think and act sustainably. Recent activities have included teaching others about fast fashion’s impact on the environment, promoting the 5 R’s—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair and Repurpose and organising a Toy Swap to encourage reuse and reduce waste. These initiatives empower pupils to make eco-friendly choices every day.

Children also enjoy learning outdoors in our rich woodland and wildlife areas, where they build dens, explore habitats, observe and connect with nature as part of their learning. Our outdoor environment isn’t just for play it’s a space where pupils develop respect for nature and gain the knowledge and skills to care for it.

We are incredibly proud of the leadership, creativity and commitment our pupils show in protecting our environment. Through education and action, we are growing environmentally aware citizens who care for our school, our community and the wider world.
