At Stanley Grove, we encourage healthy eating and aim to support children in developing positive attitudes towards food and wellbeing. If your child brings a packed lunch to school, we ask that it provides a balanced and nutritious meal to help them stay focused and ready to learn throughout the afternoon.
A healthy packed lunch might include:
A sandwich, wrap or pasta/rice salad
A portion of fruit or vegetables
A yoghurt or dairy alternative
A healthy snack such as crackers or breadsticks
A drink of water or squash (no fizzy drinks)
To promote healthy choices, we ask that packed lunches do not include:
Sweets or chocolate bars
Fizzy or energy drinks
Large bags of crisps or sugary snacks
We aim to be a nut-aware school to protect children who have allergies. We therefore ask parents and carers not to include any nut products (including peanut butter, Nutella or nut-based snacks) in packed lunches.
Please ensure packed lunches are brought in a clearly named lunchbox or bag. We also encourage children to bring a reusable water bottle, which can be refilled during the day.
By working together, we can help children develop healthy habits that support their learning, wellbeing and growth. If you have any questions about packed lunches, please contact the school office.
