What is Pol-Ed?

Pol-Ed (Police Education) is a high-quality PSHE programme developed in partnership with police and education professionals to support schools in teaching children about safety, relationships, wellbeing and citizenship. At Stanley Grove, we use the Pol-Ed curriculum to teach our weekly ‘life lessons’, ensuring children develop the knowledge, skills and personal qualities they need for life beyond school.

The programme is structured around four key areas: relationships, keeping safe, understanding the law and wellbeing. Lessons are age-appropriate, engaging and designed to help children understand real-life situations, make informed choices and develop resilience. The resources are regularly reviewed and updated to remain relevant to children’s lives.

British values are embedded throughout the Pol-Ed curriculum, and the effective promotion of equality and diversity is a golden thread that runs through all resources. Prevent education is built in, supporting children to recognise risk, stay safe and develop the confidence to seek help when needed. Together, these weekly life lessons prepare children for life in the modern world.
