Welcome from the Headteacher

I have been a teacher in Wakefield for over 30 years and have been Head Teacher for 18 years.  I am really proud of Stanley Grove.  I lead a committed and hard-working team and our pupils enjoy a curriculum which is engaging, motivating and relevant for them.

I want every pupil who attends this school to enjoy their time here, and leave ready and equipped to deal with the next stage of their education and living in their community.  We empower children to use and understand our rights and responsibilities, to feel safe, to be able to learn and be respected.

In Stanley Grove, children experience a high-quality academic curriculum, but also experience our ‘essentials’ which we have written into our curriculum to provide children with a range of experiences which will equip them with a love of reading, the outdoors, being competitive and supportive, respectful, healthy and valued members of society.

I am lucky enough to work with other schools in Wakefield and beyond through my work as an Audit Lead and Trainer for the Jerry Clay English Hub and Chair of Outwood Together partnership.  Through working together and supporting each other, we can give all children the very best start in their education and school life.

Stanley Grove became part of the Accomplish MAT on 1st October 2023 and is proud to be  part of Accomplish Trust led by Tracy Swinburne, OBE.  We were the first school to join Jerry Clay Academy in this newly formed Trust.

We are so proud of our school, not only for the excellent outcomes we achieve, but the broad holistic curriculum we provide.  This ensures that every child thrives through the magic of a quality primary education.  I hope you enjoy looking at our website and please contact the school if you wish to look around to see us in action.
