Pupil Premium

‘Pupil premium funding is used effectively and is regularly monitored. Teachers and leaders continually check on the progress of this small group of pupils and target extra support where it is needed. As a result, pupils who are disadvantaged are progressing at similar rates to other pupils in the school. ‘

Pupil Premium

At Stanley Grove, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. One way we support this is through Pupil Premium funding.

What is Pupil Premium?

Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the UK Government to schools to improve educational outcomes for pupils who may face additional challenges. The funding is intended to help close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

Who is eligible?

Your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium if they:

  • Are currently entitled to Free School Meals (FSM)

  • Have been entitled to Free School Meals at any point in the last six years

  • Are looked after by the local authority or have previously been looked after

  • Have parents serving in the armed forces

Even if your child receives a universal free school meal (such as in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2), you may still need to register to ensure the school receives Pupil Premium funding.

How does the school receive the funding?

The school receives Pupil Premium funding directly from the Government based on the number of eligible pupils recorded in the January school census each year. This funding is paid to the school to provide additional support, resources and opportunities for eligible pupils.

How is the funding used?

At Stanley Grove, Pupil Premium funding may be used to support:

  • Additional teaching and learning support

  • Small group and one-to-one interventions

  • Curriculum enrichment opportunities

  • Support with educational visits and residential trips where appropriate

  • Social and emotional wellbeing programmes

  • Assistance with uniform or essential equipment where appropriate

Full details of how we spend Pupil Premium funding, including our annual strategy statement and impact report, can be found below.
