At Stanley Grove Academy we believe that music brings joy, creativity and expression. Singing is at the heart of our school and a much-loved part of school life. Through weekly singing assemblies, school performances and celebrations, pupils gain confidence, unity and a love of music.
Across school, children learn to listen, sing, perform and compose. They develop skills in rhythm, pulse, pitch and notation, explore instruments and experience music from a range of styles, genres and cultures.
Our curriculum builds progressively from singing and fundamental musical skills in Key Stage 1 to composition, notation, instrumental performance and music appreciation in Key Stage 2. Music is inclusive and accessible for all.
Our aim is for every child to leave Stanley Grove Academy with a love of singing, enjoyment of music and the confidence to continue music beyond primary school.
