At Stanley Grove Academy we believe that computing prepares children for a rapidly changing digital world. Our curriculum enables pupils to understand how technology works, how digital content is created, and how to use technology safely, responsibly and creatively.
Across school, pupils develop knowledge in three key strands: Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy. Children learn to code and debug programs, explore networks, experiment with artificial intelligence and work with a wide range of digital tools including animation, video, photography, sound, spreadsheets and web design.
Digital literacy and online safety are woven throughout our curriculum. Pupils learn how to communicate online, protect personal information, recognise reliable information and consider how technology affects their wellbeing, relationships and digital reputation.
Through practical projects, collaborative problem-solving and real-world digital tasks, we encourage children to think logically, be creative and apply computational skills with purpose. Our aim is for every child to leave Stanley Grove Academy as a confident and responsible digital citizen with the knowledge and skills to thrive in the modern world.
